What do we do when everything seems to fall apart? Where do we turn when the world around us seems to be crumbling and we feel like we just can't take anymore? We often wonder how all these bad things can happen; why do they happen? There is a reason for all things, and the bible tells us that as Christians there is a definite purpose. As a result of our sin the world is no longer perfect, and bad things happen. But is that all? Is that the only purpose??? I don't believe so. One of the things the bible talks about is being refined. We are being refined by our trials, being molded into something better! Zechariah 13:9 "...and refine them as one refines silver and test them as gold is tested..." What do you pray for when troubles and trials feel overwhelming? Most of us pray for God to take them away or fix them, and while there's nothing wrong with asking God to heal the sick or to fix our problems, we need to remember that God knows better than us and sees the whole picture. If His answer is no or not now that doesn't mean we stop praying. Pray for the strength to go through the fires, for an attitude of trust in Him. Ask that His Spirit be alive in you so that the world can see you're different. In Christ, we are different! This week's #TuesdayTunes is a prayer to be " Different " by Micah Tyler.

On Sunday our preacher quoted this beautiful hymn:  "By faith we see the hand of God In the light of creation's grand design In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness Who walk by faith and not by sight" It's so easy to believe in things you can see, but when it comes to our glorious God we need to have faith. God's Hand is at work everywhere in Creation and although we can't see God, we can see His handiwork. Love. A word that represents so much; that means many different things; that causes each and every one of us to think of someone or something. Our earthly, sinful nature has put a stain on the word and its true meaning. 1 Corinthians 13:4 – 7 tells us “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” True love is perfect, a reflection of God. God’s love is what we should strive to imitate. If our love is not like His it is hollow and empty. “So, no matter what we say, no matter what we believe, no matter what we do, We're bankrupt without love” Pull out your bible and see what God says about love in 1 Corinthians 13. Life is full of hurdles and when we look around its easy to despair. Where do you go for help? Who and what do you seek in times of need? Do you turn to food? Drugs? Alcohol? Do you worry and fret and allow yourself to be filled with anxiety? We so easily slip into bad habits and turn to things that won’t help us. Turn to the Lord instead. Open His Word, seek Him and you find Him. Let the peace of Christ fill your heart and mind. Know that our “help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121 is a beautiful text about how God is our help. Today was a good day. In fact, I think I'd call it a great day! I woke up this morning, rolled over and snuggled my sweetheart. It's not often that he sleeps in so it was kinda nice to wake up with him actually beside me. Saturdays are usually set for getting things done around the NorMel House, but today we just stayed and chatted and took our time. It was so nice, but eventually our 3 suckies let us know it was time to get up. I think this is the first time I've gotten out of bed on the "right" side in a while cuz I decided I wanted to feel pretty today. So I put on something that made me feel good and for the first time in a long time I actually put makeup on! After enjoying coffee with my wonderful hubby I decided to get some boutique work done and shot out an invite for people to come shop my stock today. It was a rather productive day; if I do say so myself. So I took my good feeling even farther. I decided I needed a change and got a haircut.  The glo...

A snippet of one of the books my hubby and I are reading together before bed. I have to admit tonight's chapter is something I wish all couples would read before getting married. There's a lot in here I have always believed, a lot I need reminding of, and even things I'd never realized or considered. We're reading through a book by Dr James Dobson called "Love for a lifetime: Building a marriage that will go the distance." Our current chapter has pearls of wisdom I think could prevent a lot of marital issues and I can't help but want to dwell on it for a bit. I think I'll have to do some studying. I highly recommend reading this book if you are intending to get, or are married. For now I plan to close my eyes. Have a blessed Sunday tomorrow! The NorMel House

I recently came across a post on Facebook about prolife promoting. I am 100% pro life but I have come across some awful prolife promotions. I've nearly had accidents from the horrific posters they've hung over the Lincoln Alexander Parkway and Im glad it isn't allowed anymore. I don't even want to be associated with the groups who use shocking images to try convince people to be prolife. From someone who has had many miscarriages and held a son who was only 17 weeks along it was one of the most emotionally traumatizing things to have to see. No woman should have to go through that, they're are better ways to make our point. Why not show the intricacies of our children instead of man's destruction. Explain the beauty of life God has given. Right from conception we are unique individuals who simply need to grow and develop. We don't kill our born children because they aren't fully developed. Coolest entertainment fun. Went to my first escape room last night! www.thecrux.ca They have one escape room in Niagara falls Ontario called dead air; a zombie apocalypse theme. I'm not a zombie fan, in fact I normally hate zombie stuff, but this wasn't freaky in any way. Norm and I went with 2 other couples, and it was really cool! Basically you solve puzzles and have to figure out how to unlock things and get out of the room in an hour. We did it with 6 minutes to spare :) Seriously recommend trying out different escape rooms, and I think 6 was the right amount of people too. We checked out this brew house afterwards called Taps and, I'm happy to say, watched the Habs beat the Leafs ;) that's right, if I'm watching/following hockey, I'm a Habs girl... Much to the dismay of my guy friends lol They had a guy playing guitar and singing, and it felt good to be out for a night, it's been a while. What a crazy busy and fun day! My vendor event was tonight and I had so much fun!!!! It was busy, and I sold some products, talked to a LOT of people and really had a good time. Plus I used my new Square, so it's already come in handy! Today kinda made me feel like a chicken with its head cut off. (I really hope you know that expression- if you've never experienced the source of it, I can honestly tell you it's an accurate description). I got up early (the dogs are used to getting up with Norm so him being away for work means I get woken up earlier than usual, as Mr Knightly and Mrs Roxie require a bathroom break and breakfast). Let them out, gave them breakfast and went back to bed; apparently my lack of sleep decided to catch up with me. Got up, had coffee, designed a Norwex sale picture for the Facebook group, packed everything up and realized I needed to get going or I'd be late. How do you turn your brain off? You know, when you're body is tired, but your thoughts are racing. I love being an Independent Norwex Consultant, and I know it's probably the newness of it all, but I am constantly thinking Norwex. What kind of displays can I make? What should I do for games and prizes or draws? How can I get out there and share this amazing stuff? Am I doing it justice in how I talk about it? How do I cram all the benefits of using Norwex into a few words? And it goes on... I think I'm so excited about it I can't seem to turn it off in order to sleep lol... I went to bed over 2 hours ago and yet here I am, wide awake with Norwex on my brain. So, my question is, how do you deal with something like this? New job, new relationship, new car, new whatever it is that's making you too excited to sleep... Normally I would try reading or listening to something, or even reciting passages from memory in an attempt to get my mind on something good and peacefu...

I LOVE finding good deals! Today I bought 100 coffee pods for my knock off Keurig for $32.98! Thanks No Name brand! Super happy as I tend to be lazy in the morning; drop in a pod and some water and I'm all set :) From the NorMel House, where things are anything but normal!
