Worrying
"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" Matt. 6:25 - 26 (ESV)
When we consider our lives, do we truly understand that all things are in God's Hands? So often we struggle with situations or difficulties and try to fix them. Sometimes there are actions we can take, but then we worry about whether it was the right action or choice. We need to lay it all before Him in prayer and then trust that He is in control of all things! Seek God's help, and then trust that He will lead you on the right path.
We also need to remember to leave it with Him. There have been times in my life where I've prayed about things and I say I'm leaving it in His Hands but then I try take it all back and try control it again. It can be so hard to let go and trust that He loves us and takes care of us but the Bible very clearly tells us He will turn all things to our good; "For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8: 28 (NIV) And elsewhere it says "Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth." Psalm 46:10 This verse comes from a passage that speaks of nations waging wars and mountains falling into the sea. Amidst the many crazy things that can happen in this world we are called upon to be still. Though the mountains tremble, God will not be moved. Though the nations rage, when He but speaks all must listen. He stills the raging of the seas and calms the storms. There is nothing in this world that is more powerful than our God. So when you start worrying or feel afraid, be still. Trust and know that God will be exalted; there is nothing He can't do. The peace of God passes all understanding. We don't know what tomorrow brings so rest in God's peace for today. Lay it all at His feet and rest in His love.
